Construction Technician
Temporary
Location: the West Midlands
Are you an experienced construction tradesperson looking to put your practical skills to use supporting the next generation?
About the Role
As a Construction Technician, you'll support the day-to-day running of busy construction workshops at a further education provider in the West Midlands, making sure practical sessions run smoothly, safely and on time.
You'll work alongside the teaching team, preparing tools, equipment and materials for practical classes and keeping the workshop and its machinery in good working order.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Preparing, setting up and dismantling tools, equipment and materials for practical sessions and demonstrations.
- Maintaining, servicing and repairing workshop machinery and equipment.
- Assisting lecturing staff during practical workshops and assessments.
- Maintaining health and safety standards across all training areas.
- Managing workshop stock and making sure resources are ready when they're needed.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- A relevant qualification in a recognised construction trade
- Practical skills and sound knowledge of construction tools, equipment and materials
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- The ability to work independently and to deadlines
Desirable (but not essential):
- Previous experience within a further education or training environment
