Plumbing Lecturer (Temporary)

Plumbing Lecturer

Temporary | Contract

Are you an experienced plumber looking to pass on your trade knowledge and inspire the next generation?

About the Role

You'll join a further education provider as a Plumbing Lecturer, delivering Plumbing programmes to learners and apprentices. You'll teach both classroom theory and practical workshop sessions, helping learners build the technical skills and site knowledge the trade expects.

You'll plan and assess learning activities, track learner progress and prepare learners for employment, apprenticeships and further study.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Delivering engaging teaching across Plumbing programmes.
• Planning, preparing and assessing learning activities to support learner progression and achievement.
• Delivering practical workshop sessions alongside classroom theory.
• Embedding health and safety standards into your teaching.
• Contributing to curriculum development so that content reflects current industry practice.
• Supporting learners to develop their technical skills and employability.
• Maintaining accurate records of attendance, progress and achievement.

What We're Looking For

Essential:

• Level 3 Plumbing qualification or equivalent industry-recognised qualification
• Current or recent industry experience within plumbing
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• Ability to motivate and engage learners

Desirable (but not essential):

• Teaching qualification, or a willingness to work towards one
• Assessor qualification
• Experience of teaching, training or assessing learners
• Knowledge of apprenticeship standards

Teaching experience isn't essential. If you're coming straight off the tools, you'll be supported to make the move into teaching.

If you're ready to use your trade experience to shape the plumbers of the future, we'd love to hear from you.
