Personal Development Tutor
Temporary
Location: the North West
Start date: 28 September 2026
Are you passionate about supporting young people to get the most out of their education?
About the Role
You'll join a further education provider in the North West, working closely with learners to support their progress, wellbeing and next steps. You'll be the person they come to when something gets in the way of their studies, and the person helping them plan where they go next.
No formal teaching qualification is required — what matters is genuine enthusiasm for supporting learners and experience of working with young people.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Holding one-to-one meetings with learners to review progress and set targets.
- Providing pastoral support across a caseload of learners.
- Monitoring timekeeping, attendance and behaviour, and taking action where concerns arise.
- Supporting learners with next steps, including UCAS applications, apprenticeships, further study and employment.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- A Level 2 qualification or higher in English and maths
- Experience working with young adults
- Willingness to obtain an enhanced DBS check
Desirable (but not essential):
- Knowledge of additional learning needs
- Up-to-date safeguarding training, or a willingness to obtain it
