Job Description

Pastoral & Group Intervention Lead

Employment Type: Temporary, ongoing contract, term-time only

Start Date: ASAP

Hours: Full-Time

Salary: £22-£25 per hour via Umbrella, paid weekly

Are you an empathetic, assertive, and dedicated support professional driven by the belief that every young person deserves a strong advocate in their educational journey? We are seeking a Pastoral & Group Intervention Lead to join a thriving further education community across the Cheshire region.

In this role, you will be the bridge between academic progression and emotional wellbeing. Working with a person-centred approach, you will lead dynamic group sessions, deliver targeted pastoral interventions, and serve as a crucial point of contact for students navigating barriers to their education.

Benefits:

  • Full-time, term-time-only schedule (37 hours per week) that keeps your academic holidays completely free.
  • Secure a stable, full-time placement within a supportive and collaborative student services team.
  • An outstanding role for experienced pastoral leads, HLTAs, or aspiring educators seeking to build high-level group delivery and safeguarding experience in the FE sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead engaging group sessions focused on personal development, emotional regulation, academic support, and life skills.
  • Provide ongoing pastoral guidance to students, helping them manage attendance, overcome personal challenges, and develop emotional resilience.
  • Proactively identify concerns, respond swiftly to welfare issues, and follow strict safeguarding reporting procedures to ensure student safety.
  • Maintain accurate, confidential records of student contact, intervention outcomes, and welfare logs.

Requirements:

  • Level 3 qualification in education, youth work, or a related discipline is essential. GCSE English and Maths at Grade C/4/5 (or equivalent) are strictly required.
  • Proven track record delivering support or interventions to groups of young people, with deep experience in pastoral care.
  • Must hold a valid Enhanced DBS check.

Even if you don't meet every single criteria listed, if you are a resilient individual with a genuine passion for supporting students and a willingness to learn, we would still love to hear from you.

Could this be your next challenge? Please apply via this page with a copy of your CV.
