Calderdale College are seeking to appoint a Director of Operations at the Calderdale College Engineering Centre who will provide senior leadership of their apprenticeship and T Level programmes.

We are looking for a passionate individual who can lead high quality learning, teaching and assessment, whilst implementing ambitious plans for this important provision.

Key responsibilities

Reporting into the Vice Principal for Apprenticeships, Adults and Higher Education, you will lead on all aspects of the student/apprentice journey whilst ensuring outstanding employer satisfaction, regulatory compliance and commercial success. You will provide operational leadership and direction for staff and work with employers and stakeholders to align provision to current and future skills needs.

What we are looking for

To be successful, you will be an experienced manager within the post 16 sector and will have demonstrable experience of leading delivery which has resulted in excellent learner outcomes. You will have an excellent understanding of apprenticeship compliance and funding requirements and will be committed to developing provision which best meets the needs of the engineering sector across West Yorkshire. You will have a sound understanding of what exceptional teaching and learning looks like and a commitment to driving high standards across all provision.

The centre offers a range of courses including Apprenticeships, T Levels and commercial provision, with subjects including Level 2 & 3 Welding, Level 3 Engineering, Dual-discipline engineering programmes, Motor Vehicle and Electrical Installation. There are state of the art facilities including Robotics provision, Engineering workshops, Modern machinery and lathes, Motor Vehicle (MV) garage, Electrical provision, Industry 4 Hub, a New staffroom and Industry-focused facilities designed to support current and future engineering provision
