About the Role

A further education provider in the North West is looking for a Mechanical Engineer Lecturer to deliver practical and theory sessions across its engineering programmes. You'll use your industry knowledge to bring the subject to life, helping learners build the skills, knowledge and behaviours the engineering sector expects.

Whether you've taught before or you're coming straight from industry, support is available to help you make the move into teaching.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Delivering engaging workshop and classroom-based sessions in mechanical engineering.
• Planning and preparing schemes of work, lesson plans and learning resources.
• Assessing learner work and providing timely, constructive feedback.
• Maintaining accurate records in line with awarding body and organisational requirements.
• Embedding current industry practices and standards into your teaching.
• Ensuring safe working practices across workshops and learning environments.

What We're Looking For

Essential:

• A minimum NVQ Level 3 in mechanical engineering or a closely related discipline
• Relevant industry experience within an engineering environment
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• A genuine interest in sharing your knowledge and supporting learner success

Desirable (but not essential):

• An HNC or higher in mechanical engineering
• A recognised teaching qualification
