Maths Lecturer
Temporary | Contract
Location: the East Midlands
Are you a maths specialist who would enjoy helping learners build the confidence and skills they need to succeed?
About the Role
A further education provider in the East Midlands is looking for a Maths Lecturer to join its teaching team. You'll deliver engaging lessons across maths programmes, supporting learners of mixed abilities to achieve their qualifications and develop the numeracy skills they'll use in work, further study and everyday life.
You'll be part of a supportive department, with the scope to bring your own subject expertise into the classroom.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Planning and delivering high-quality teaching across maths programmes.
- Preparing schemes of work, lesson resources and assessment materials.
- Tracking learner progress, marking work and providing timely feedback.
- Supporting learners with gaps in knowledge, building confidence and motivation.
- Working collaboratively with the maths team and wider curriculum colleagues.
- Maintaining high standards of teaching, learning and assessment.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- A Level 3 qualification or higher in maths or a closely related subject
- Strong subject knowledge and the ability to engage learners of mixed abilities
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
Desirable (but not essential):
- A recognised teaching qualification such as QTS, QTLS, PGCE, CertEd or the Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training
- Experience teaching maths within further education or secondary education
