Learning Support Assistant

Contract | Part Time

Start date: Sept - July '26

Wednesday and Thursday, 9:00–16:30

Are you an experienced learning support professional who is passionate about making a real difference to young people with additional learning needs?

About the Role

As a Learning Support Assistant with a training provider, you'll support learners with additional learning needs within a construction academy setting. This is a unique part-time role, two days a week on a fixed-term basis, where your work will have a genuine impact on the learners you support.

Working Days & Times

Wednesday 9:00-16:30

Thursday 9:00-16:30

You'll draw on your knowledge and experience of working with young people with Special Educational Needs and/or Disability (SEND) to help learners engage, progress and build confidence in their chosen profession. Working within a passionate and dedicated team, you'll help transform lives through learning.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting learners with additional learning needs to access and engage with their programme.
  • Working closely with learners who have Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCP).
  • Helping to create a calm, inclusive and supportive learning environment.
  • Assisting learners to develop the skills and confidence to succeed in their chosen profession.

What We're Looking For

Essential:

  • Experience of supporting learners with additional learning needs in FE
  • Knowledge and experience of working with young people with Special Educational Needs and/or Disability (SEND)
  • Experience of supporting learners with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCP)
  • A calm and patient attitude
  • A genuine passion for making a real difference to young people
