Health & Safety Tutor
Temporary | Contract
Location: the North East
Start date: October 2026
Are you a qualified health and safety professional looking to pass on your expertise to the next generation of workers?
About the Role
An education provider in the North East is looking for a Health & Safety Tutor to deliver engaging, accredited training to learners working towards industry-recognised qualifications.
You'll plan and deliver high-quality sessions, guide learners through their assessments, and create a supportive environment where people of all backgrounds and abilities can succeed.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Planning and delivering engaging health and safety sessions that meet qualification requirements and quality standards.
- Guiding learners through formal assessments towards industry-recognised qualifications.
- Setting, monitoring and reviewing SMART targets with learners to track progress.
- Maintaining accurate learner records, including enrolments, progress and completions.
- Developing inclusive teaching and learning materials suited to a diverse cohort.
- Liaising with colleagues and awarding bodies to support quality assurance requirements.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- A relevant health and safety qualification at Level 3 or above
- Current, relevant industry experience in health and safety
- GCSE Maths and English at Grade C/4 or above, or equivalent
- Strong communication and classroom management skills
Desirable (but not essential):
- A recognised teaching qualification, or a willingness to work towards one
- Assessor or IQA awards
- Previous experience of teaching, training or assessing
