Are you an experienced hairdressing professional looking to pass your skills on to the next generation?

About the Role

As a Hairdressing Lecturer with a further education provider, you'll deliver practical and theory-based hairdressing sessions to learners working towards their qualifications. You'll bring your salon experience into the training salon and the classroom, helping learners build the skills, knowledge and confidence they need to progress into employment.

You'll plan and prepare lessons, assess progress and support learners throughout their programme, working as part of an established team.

If you come from industry rather than teaching, that's welcome. Where relevant, the provider offers support to help you develop your teaching practice.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Delivering practical and theoretical hairdressing sessions to learners at a range of levels.
• Planning, preparing and delivering lessons in line with the curriculum.
• Assessing and monitoring learner progress and providing constructive feedback.
• Adapting teaching and learning materials to meet individual learner needs.
• Supporting learners to achieve their qualifications and progress onto their next steps.

What We're Looking For

Essential:

• Occupational experience in hairdressing
• A relevant vocational qualification in hairdressing
• The ability to engage and motivate learners at a range of levels

Desirable (but not essential):

• A recognised teaching qualification, or a willingness to work towards one
• Previous experience of teaching, training or assessing
