Are you an experienced bricklayer looking to pass your trade on to the next generation?

About the Role

An opportunity has arisen for a Brick Lecturer to join a further education provider in the West Midlands. You'll deliver practical workshop sessions and classroom theory across brickwork programmes, drawing on your own trade experience to prepare learners for careers in construction.

You'll plan and prepare your sessions, assess learners' work and support them through their studies, helping them build the knowledge, skills and confidence they'll need to progress.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering practical workshop and classroom-based teaching across brickwork programmes.
  • Planning and developing lesson plans, schemes of work and learning resources.
  • Assessing learners' work and providing constructive feedback.
  • Monitoring learner progress and supporting achievement.
  • Maintaining a safe, organised workshop environment in line with industry standards.
  • Providing academic and pastoral guidance to learners.

What We're Looking For

Essential:

  • A Level 3 vocational qualification in bricklaying or brickwork
  • Substantial hands-on industry experience in bricklaying or masonry
  • Strong communication and workshop management skills
  • A genuine commitment to developing the next generation of tradespeople

Desirable (but not essential):

  • A teaching qualification
  • Previous experience of teaching or assessing in further education

If you're ready to put your trade skills to work in the classroom and workshop, we'd love to hear from you.
