Groundsperson
Temporary | Contract
About the Role
An education provider is seeking a Groundsperson to help keep their grounds and outdoor spaces safe, tidy and well presented for learners, staff and visitors.
You'll carry out day-to-day grounds maintenance across the site, working to a seasonal routine and responding to issues as they arise. It's a practical, hands-on role for someone who takes pride in an environment that looks cared for.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Carrying out routine grounds maintenance, including grass cutting, pruning, planting and weed control.
- Keeping paths, car parks and external areas clear, safe and free from litter.
- Operating and maintaining grounds machinery, tools and equipment safely.
- Reporting hazards, defects and any health and safety concerns promptly.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- Previous grounds maintenance, landscaping or horticultural experience
- Safe and confident use of grounds machinery, tools and equipment
- A practical, reliable approach and the ability to work on your own initiative
- An understanding of health and safety in an outdoor working environment
Desirable (but not essential):
- A relevant horticulture or grounds maintenance qualification
- A full UK driving licence
- Experience of working within an education or similar setting
