About the Role

You'll join a further education provider in Yorkshire and the Humber, delivering GCSE Maths to learners resitting the qualification alongside their wider study programme. You'll help them close gaps in their knowledge and work towards the grade they need for employment and progression.

You'll teach groups of mixed ability, planning sessions that build confidence as well as numeracy, and you'll work alongside curriculum colleagues to keep learners engaged and on track.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Planning and delivering engaging GCSE Maths sessions to groups of mixed ability.
  • Preparing schemes of work, lesson resources and assessment materials.
  • Marking learner work and providing timely, constructive feedback.
  • Tracking learner progress, attendance and achievement.
  • Supporting learners with gaps in knowledge to build confidence and motivation.
  • Maintaining high standards of classroom management and a positive learning environment.

What We're Looking For

Essential:

  • Experience teaching GCSE Maths in further education or secondary education
  • A strong understanding of the GCSE specification and effective resit strategies
  • The ability to differentiate and adapt teaching to varied learning needs
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills

Desirable (but not essential):

  • A recognised teaching qualification such as QTS, QTLS, PGCE, Cert Ed or Level 5 DET
  • Experience supporting learners on vocational programmes

If you're ready to help learners achieve the Maths grade that opens doors for them, we'd love to hear from you.
