Electrical Installation Lecturer
Temporary
Location: the North West
Start date: October 2026
Are you an experienced electrician looking to pass your trade skills on to the next generation?
About the Role
A further education provider in the North West is looking for an Electrical Installation Lecturer to deliver teaching, training and assessment across electrical installation programmes. You'll plan and deliver sessions that combine classroom theory with practical workshop training, bringing current industry practice into everything you teach.
You'll work with learners of varying ability, adapting your delivery so everyone can progress, and you'll track that progress carefully so no one falls behind.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Planning and delivering engaging theory and practical sessions in electrical installation.
- Preparing schemes of work, lesson plans and learning resources.
- Assessing learners' knowledge and practical skills and giving clear, constructive feedback.
- Maintaining a safe, well-organised workshop and high standards of health and safety.
- Maintaining accurate learner records in line with awarding body requirements.
- Monitoring attendance, engagement and achievement, and stepping in early where a learner needs support.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- A Level 3 qualification in electrical installation, or equivalent
- Strong occupational background in the electrical industry
- Ability to motivate and support learners of mixed ability
Desirable (but not essential):
- A recognised teaching qualification, or a willingness to work towards one
- An assessor qualification
- Current 18th Edition wiring regulations
