About the Role

You'll join a further education provider as an Electrical Installation Lecturer, delivering high-quality teaching and assessment to learners working towards their electrical qualifications. You'll draw on your own experience in the industry to help them build the technical skills, knowledge and standards employers expect.

You'll teach in both the classroom and the workshop, keeping learners motivated, tracking their progress and making sure the learning environment stays safe and well organised.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Planning, delivering and assessing electrical installation courses.
• Supporting, motivating and tracking the progress of your learners.
• Maintaining a safe and effective classroom and workshop environment.
• Developing schemes of work, lesson plans and learning resources.
• Contributing to curriculum development and quality improvement.
• Keeping your industry knowledge current and embedding it into your teaching.
• Taking part in tutorials, assessments and learner reviews.

What We're Looking For

Essential:

• A Level 3 qualification or equivalent in electrical installation
• Industry experience as a practising electrician
• The ability to engage and motivate learners of differing abilities

Desirable (but not essential):

• A recognised teaching qualification, or a willingness to work towards one
• An assessor qualification
• Previous experience of teaching or mentoring in a further education setting
