Electrical Installation Assessor
Temporary
Location: Yorkshire and the Humber
Start date: October 2026
Are you an experienced electrician looking to pass your trade on to the next generation?
About the Role
You'll join a further education provider in Yorkshire and the Humber, supporting apprentices working towards their electrical installation qualifications. You'll manage a caseload of learners, assessing their competence in the workplace and tracking their progress against the standard.
You'll work closely with employers to make sure apprentices are well supported on site, and you'll guide learners through portfolio building and End-Point Assessment preparation with clear, constructive feedback.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Carrying out workplace and workshop-based assessments of apprentice competence.
- Conducting regular progress reviews and employer site visits.
- Gathering, verifying and marking portfolio evidence in line with awarding body requirements.
- Preparing apprentices for End-Point Assessment.
- Supporting learners with wiring regulations, health and safety standards and practical testing procedures.
- Maintaining accurate assessment records and tracking documentation.
- Working with internal quality assurers and employer supervisors to address any gaps in progress.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- A Level 3 qualification (or equivalent) in electrical installation
- Substantial industry experience as an electrician
- Strong knowledge of wiring regulations and current industry practice
Desirable (but not essential):
- An assessing qualification, or willingness to work towards one
- An IQA qualification
- Experience of teaching or assessing in further education
- ECS Gold Card
