Electrical Installation Lecturer
Temporary | Contract
Location: the East Midlands
Start date: 9 November 2026
Are you an experienced electrician looking to inspire the next generation of electrical professionals?
About the Role
You'll join a further education provider in the East Midlands to deliver high-quality teaching, training and assessment across electrical installation programmes. The role combines practical workshop sessions with classroom-based theory, giving learners the technical skills and knowledge the industry expects.
We welcome applications from experienced lecturers and from industry professionals looking to move into further education.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Planning and delivering engaging lessons across electrical installation courses.
- Preparing schemes of work, lesson plans and learning materials.
- Assessing learner progress and providing timely, constructive feedback.
- Supporting learners to develop their technical skills and employability prospects.
- Contributing to curriculum development so that content reflects current industry standards.
- Maintaining accurate records in line with awarding body requirements.
- Ensuring safe working practices in workshops and learning environments.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- A Level 3 qualification or equivalent in electrical installation
- Extensive industry experience in the electrical sector
Desirable (but not essential):
- A recognised teaching qualification, or a willingness to work towards one
- An assessor qualification
