Are you an experienced carpenter or joiner looking to pass on your skills and inspire the next generation of tradespeople?

About the Role

You'll join a further education provider as a Carpentry and Joinery Lecturer, teaching programmes from Entry Level to Level 3. You'll deliver both classroom theory and practical workshop sessions, helping learners build the hand skills and site knowledge the trade expects.

You'll assess learner progress, develop learning resources and prepare learners for employment, apprenticeships and further study.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Teaching Carpentry and Joinery programmes from Entry Level to Level 3.
• Delivering engaging classroom lessons and practical workshop sessions.
• Developing learning resources and assessing learner progress.
• Supporting curriculum development and employer engagement activities where appropriate.
• Upholding health and safety standards in workshop and training areas.

What We're Looking For

Essential:

• A Level 3 qualification (or higher) in Carpentry and Joinery or a related construction discipline
• Significant industry experience within Carpentry and Joinery
• Level 2 (or equivalent) in English and maths
• A genuine interest in developing the next generation of skilled tradespeople

Desirable (but not essential):

• A recognised teaching qualification, or a willingness to work towards one
• Assessor qualifications
