Carpentry and Joinery Lecturer
Temporary | Contract
Location: the West Midlands
Start date: 12 October 2026
Are you an experienced carpenter or joiner looking to pass your trade on to the next generation?
About the Role
A further education provider is looking for a Carpentry and Joinery Lecturer to deliver theory and practical workshop sessions to learners working towards their carpentry and joinery qualifications. You'll bring your site or bench experience into the classroom and workshop, and support learners through to successful completion.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Delivering engaging practical and theory sessions in Carpentry and Joinery.
- Planning, preparing and assessing learning activities to support learner progression.
- Marking work, giving feedback and carrying out progress reviews.
- Keeping accurate records of attendance, achievement and awarding body requirements.
- Contributing to curriculum development so that content reflects current industry standards.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- Level 3 qualification or equivalent in Carpentry and Joinery, or a related construction discipline
- Industry experience as a practising carpenter or joiner
Desirable (but not essential):
- A teaching qualification, or willingness to work towards one
- Experience of teaching or assessing in a further education setting
