Biology Teacher
Temporary | Contract
Location: the North West
Start date: October 2026
About the Role
An education provider is looking for a Biology Teacher to plan and deliver engaging lessons to learners working towards their qualifications. You'll bring the subject to life in the classroom and the laboratory, helping students build the scientific knowledge, practical skills and confidence they need to progress.
You'll assess learner work, track progress and create a positive, well-structured learning environment in which students are motivated to achieve.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Planning and delivering engaging biology lessons across a range of levels.
- Delivering practical laboratory sessions safely and effectively.
- Assessing learner work and tracking progress towards qualifications.
- Adapting teaching to meet the needs of individual learners.
- Supporting curriculum delivery and development.
- Building positive relationships that encourage attendance, engagement and achievement.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- Strong biology subject knowledge
- A recognised teaching qualification such as QTS, QTLS, PGCE, Cert Ed or DET
- Experience teaching biology or science
- Confident classroom and behaviour management
Desirable (but not essential):
- Experience delivering GCSE and/or A Level biology
- Experience supporting learners of mixed abilities
