Barbering Lecturer
Temporary | Contract

Are you an experienced barber looking to pass your skills on to the next generation?
About the Role
An education provider is looking for a Barbering Lecturer to deliver practical and theory sessions to learners working towards recognised barbering qualifications. You'll plan and deliver engaging sessions, assess learner progress and help students build the technical skills and confidence they need to move into the industry.
You'll bring your own experience of the trade into the salon and classroom, making learning relevant and up to date, and you'll create a positive, professional environment where learners are motivated to achieve.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Planning and delivering barbering theory and practical sessions across a range of levels.
- Bringing industry experience into teaching to keep learning current and relevant.
- Assessing learner work and tracking progress towards qualifications.
- Adapting teaching to meet the needs of individual learners.
- Supporting curriculum delivery and development.
- Maintaining high standards of professional practice, health and safety in the salon.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- Level 3 (or higher) qualification in Barbering or a related discipline
- Industry experience in barbering
- Ability to plan, deliver and assess sessions for learners of mixed abilities
- Good communication skills and a supportive approach to learners
Desirable (but not essential):
- A teaching qualification, or a willingness to work towards one
- An assessor qualification
- Previous experience of teaching, assessing or mentoring in a further education setting
