Engineering Lecturer
Temporary | Contract
Location: the West Midlands
Are you an experienced engineer looking to pass your skills on to the next generation?
About the Role
An opportunity has arisen for an Engineering Lecturer to join a further education provider in the West Midlands. You'll deliver practical workshop sessions and classroom theory across engineering programmes, drawing on your own industry experience to prepare learners for careers in the sector.
You'll plan and prepare your sessions, assess learners' work and support them through their studies, helping them build the knowledge, skills and confidence they'll need to progress.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Delivering practical workshop and classroom-based teaching across engineering programmes.
- Planning and developing lesson plans, schemes of work and learning resources.
- Assessing learners' work and providing constructive feedback.
- Monitoring learner progress and supporting achievement.
- Maintaining a safe, organised workshop environment in line with industry standards.
- Providing academic and pastoral guidance to learners.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- A Level 3 qualification in engineering or a related discipline
- Practical industry experience in engineering
- The ability to engage and motivate learners of differing abilities
Desirable (but not essential):
- A recognised teaching qualification, or a willingness to work towards one
- Previous experience of teaching, assessing or mentoring
