Art Lecturer
Temporary | Contract
Location: the West Midlands
Start date: 25 August 2026
Are you an experienced art practitioner looking to inspire the next generation, or already teaching and ready for your next opportunity within further education?
About the Role
As an Art Lecturer, you'll deliver high-quality teaching across art courses for a further education provider, helping learners build the creative and practical skills they need to progress.
You'll plan and deliver engaging sessions to learners of mixed abilities, assess work in line with awarding body requirements and work alongside the wider teaching team to maintain strong standards of teaching, learning and assessment.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Planning and delivering art sessions across a range of levels and abilities.
- Preparing schemes of work, lesson resources and assessments.
- Marking learner work and providing timely, constructive feedback.
- Supporting learners to develop their creative skills, confidence and employability prospects.
- Contributing to curriculum development so content reflects current industry practice.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- Strong subject knowledge in art
- Experience of teaching, assessing or instructing learners
Desirable (but not essential):
- A recognised teaching qualification, or a willingness to work towards one
- Experience of teaching within further education
