About the Role

A further education provider is looking for an Access to HE Social Work Lecturer to join their teaching team. You'll deliver high-quality teaching and learning to adult learners preparing to progress into higher education and careers in social work, bringing your professional knowledge into the classroom.

You'll plan and prepare engaging sessions, assess learner progress and provide the support students need to overcome individual barriers and achieve their goals.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Planning and delivering lessons on the Access to Higher Education programme.
• Designing schemes of work, lesson plans and assessment schedules.
• Creating a safe and inclusive learning environment where students are stretched and challenged.
• Assessing work, tracking progress and giving constructive feedback.
• Providing tutorial and pastoral support to help learners stay on track.

What We're Looking For

Essential:

• A relevant qualification in social work or a related discipline
• Experience gained in the social work or social care sector
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• A commitment to helping learners achieve their potential

Desirable (but not essential):

• A recognised teaching qualification, or a willingness to work towards one
• Experience of teaching, training or assessing in further education
• Familiarity with Access to Higher Education programmes
