A Level Maths Lecturer
Temporary | Contract
Location: the East Midlands
Are you a maths specialist who would enjoy stretching able learners through their A Level studies?
About the Role
A further education provider in the East Midlands is looking for an A Level Maths Lecturer to join its teaching team. You'll deliver engaging lessons across A Level Maths, helping learners build the subject knowledge, technique and confidence they need to progress into higher education or employment.
You'll be part of a supportive department, with the scope to bring your own subject expertise into the classroom.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Planning and delivering high-quality teaching across A Level Maths programmes.
- Preparing schemes of work, lesson plans and assessment materials.
- Monitoring learner progress, marking work and providing timely feedback.
- Supporting learners of differing abilities to reach their target grades.
- Maintaining high standards of teaching, learning and assessment.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- A degree or Level 3 qualification or higher in maths or a closely related subject
- Strong subject knowledge and a good understanding of the A Level specification
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- The ability to engage and motivate learners of mixed abilities
Desirable (but not essential):
- A recognised teaching qualification such as PGCE, Cert Ed, DET or QTS
- Previous experience of teaching A Level Maths in a further education or sixth form setting
