What We’re Hiring For: Learning Support Assistants (LSAs)

We are actively seeking experienced staff who can step into the role and make an immediate impact on our learners' educational journeys.

What does an LSA at a further education college do? Our LSAs play a vital role as positive role models, delivering high-quality learning support and promoting inclusion, success, and progression for learners across all areas. Your key duties will include:

  • Direct Student Support: Providing 1:1 or small group support for students (including those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities/EHCPs) within the classroom or community environment.
  • Fostering Independence: Employing strategies to empower students, promote independent learning, and encourage aspirational attitudes.
  • Teacher Collaboration: Assisting teaching staff with the preparation of resources, adapting activities, and differentiating learning materials to meet individual student needs.
  • Monitoring Progress: Keeping accurate records of student progress, monitoring responses to learning activities, and providing detailed feedback to tutors.
  • Holistic Development: Supporting the physical, intellectual, emotional, and social development of learners, helping them overcome barriers to education.

Getting There

By Metro: The West Bromwich Central tram station is located right next to the college, offering frequent and easy access from Birmingham City Centre or Wolverhampton. By Bus: We are just a two-minute walk from the West Bromwich bus station, which is served by extensive routes across the West Midlands. By Train: Sandwell & Dudley Station is just a 5-minute bus or taxi ride away, with frequent services from major cities via West Midlands Railway. Driving & Parking: From Junction 1 of the M5, follow signs to West Bromwich town centre. The college car park entrance is located on Spon Lane (Note: on-site parking must be pre-booked). There are also several pay-and-display public car parks located immediately near the college.
