About the role

An education provider is looking for a Teaching Assistant to support a Year 5 class. You'll work alongside the class teacher to help pupils access their learning, keeping them focused, confident and making progress across the school day.

It's a role suited to someone patient and practical, who enjoys building good relationships with children and being part of the daily life of a busy classroom.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Supporting the class teacher in the delivery of lessons to Year 5 pupils.
• Working with individuals and small groups to reinforce learning and address gaps.
• Supporting pupils with additional needs to access the curriculum.
• Helping to prepare resources and maintain a positive, well-managed classroom.
• Encouraging good behaviour and positive attitudes to learning.

What we're looking for

Essential:

• Experience of supporting children in a classroom or similar setting
• The ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
• Patience, initiative and a flexible approach

Desirable (but not essential):

• A relevant Teaching Assistant qualification, such as Level 2 or Level 3
• Experience of working with primary-aged pupils
