Welding Technician
Temporary
Location: the West Midlands
Start date: September 2026
Are you an experienced welding professional looking to pass your skills on to the next generation?
About the Role
A further education provider in the West Midlands is looking for a Welding Technician to join its engineering team. You'll provide technical support across welding workshops and classrooms, making sure learners have a safe, well-organised environment in which to develop their practical skills.
Alongside the day-to-day running of the workshop, you'll support teaching and learning by helping learners build and master their technique.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing technical support in welding workshops and classrooms.
- Maintaining a safe and organised learning environment.
- Assisting with stock control and the management of materials and equipment.
- Supporting the development of learners' practical skills and understanding.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- A Level 2 qualification in Welding, or equivalent industry experience
Desirable (but not essential):
- Experience in a relevant engineering or manufacturing environment
- Experience of supporting or delivering practical training
