Waiter
Temporary
Location: the South West
Start date: October 2026
About the Role
You will provide friendly, attentive table service during the morning period, helping guests and diners feel welcome from the moment they arrive. Working as part of a catering and hospitality team with a further education provider in the South West, you'll keep service running smoothly and to a consistently high standard.
You'll prepare the dining area ahead of service, take and deliver orders accurately, and clear and reset tables between covers, maintaining good standards of cleanliness and food hygiene throughout.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Setting up the dining area and preparing tables ahead of service.
- Greeting guests and taking food and drink orders.
- Serving food and beverages promptly and accurately.
- Clearing, cleaning and resetting tables during and after service.
- Following food hygiene, health and safety procedures at all times.
- Supporting colleagues across the catering team as needed.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- A warm, professional manner with customers and colleagues
- Good timekeeping and reliability for early starts
- The ability to work quickly and calmly during busy service periods
- An understanding of basic food hygiene and health and safety
Desirable (but not essential):
- Previous experience of waiting or front of house work
- A food hygiene certificate
- Experience of working in a busy kitchen or dining environment
