Job Description
Travel and Tourism Lecturer
Temporary
Location: the East of England
Start date: 22 October 2026
Are you an experienced travel and tourism professional looking to pass your skills on to the next generation?
About the role
You'll plan, deliver and assess engaging travel and tourism programmes for a further education provider, combining practical sessions with the underpinning theory learners need to succeed.
Working across a range of levels, you'll bring your industry experience into the classroom, helping learners build the knowledge, skills and confidence that employers in the sector value. You'll create a safe and supportive learning environment, monitor learner progress and adapt your teaching to meet the needs of a diverse group of learners.
If you come from industry rather than teaching, that's welcome. Our client offers support to help you move into education and develop as a lecturer.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Planning, delivering and assessing travel and tourism programmes across a range of levels.
- Preparing schemes of work, lesson resources and assessments.
- Monitoring learner progress and providing timely, constructive feedback.
- Creating a safe, positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Working collaboratively with the wider curriculum team.
What we're looking for
Essential:
- Subject expertise in travel and tourism, from industry or teaching
- Experience of delivering or assessing learning across a range of levels
- A commitment to supporting learners of mixed abilities
Desirable (but not essential):
- A teaching qualification, or a willingness to work towards one
- Experience of teaching in a further education setting
If you're ready to share your industry experience and help learners build their futures in travel and tourism, we'd love to hear from you.
What's on Offer
- Support to transition into education and develop as a lecturer
