Your work will be essential in providing top-tier personal care, helping students access their education safely and with dignity.

The Role

Your core purpose is to plan for and deliver high-quality personal care, mobility support, and medication administration to students. You will provide responsive, vital support for learners, families, external stakeholders, and the wider college inclusion team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver and coordinate personal care assistance alongside the safe storage, recording, and administration of student medications.
  • Liaise with external health professionals—including physiotherapists, specialist nurses, and occupational therapists—and deliver First Aid when required.
  • Collaborate with students, families, and external agencies to write and maintain up-to-date health declarations, medical risk assessments, and robust support plans.
  • Complete Personal Emergency Evacuation Plans (PEEPs) for identified students.
  • Maintain clean, stocked, and secure environments within hygiene suites, accessible toilets, and dedicated medication/physio spaces.
  • Support student trips by assisting with the planning and attendance of external visits.
  • Feed into organizational policies and complete all administrative duties to guarantee a clear audit trail.
  • Uphold absolute compliance regarding safeguarding, health and safety, equality and diversity, and British values.

Requirements:

  • Literacy & Numeracy (Essential): GCSE English and Maths at Grade 4/C or above, or a Functional Skills equivalent.
  • Digital Skills (Essential): Strong digital literacy with proven experience using Microsoft platforms.
  • Communication (Essential): Ability to communicate clearly, articulately, and professionally in both verbal and written forms.
  • Care Qualifications (Desirable): A Level 3 or equivalent qualification in an appropriate discipline or level of care.
  • First Aid (Desirable): A valid First Aid qualification, or a willingness to undertake this training within your first 12 months.
  • Agency Collaboration (Desirable): Previous experience working in tandem with external healthcare or support agencies.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to undergo regular medical support training and occasionally attend college open events on evenings or Saturdays.
