Section Manager: Business – Finance and Management

Salary – £43,000 – £50,000 per annum Location – Hayes Contract Type – Permanent; Full-time (36 hours per week, 52 weeks per year)

We are looking for a strategic and experienced Section Manager to lead the development and expansion of our Business, Finance, and Management curriculum. This is a pivotal leadership role designed for someone who can drive student achievement while successfully managing a dynamic team of educators.

Role Responsibilities

  • Leadership & Strategy: Lead the development and expansion of the Commercial and Professional curriculum, including Work-Based Learning.
  • Management: Assist the Head of School in managing staff, providing supervision to course teams, and deputising for the Head of School when required.
  • Operational Oversight: Prepare course and staff timetables, ensuring the maximum use of accommodation and staffing resources.
  • Employer Engagement: Liaise with external organisations and employers to build new contacts, create commercial business opportunities, and facilitate workplace programmes.
  • Quality & Evaluation: Provide leadership in teaching and learning by implementing quality policies, target setting, and conducting annual graded lesson observations.
  • Teaching: Deliver high-quality teaching across a range of programmes according to your specialism, which may include AAT and Higher Education (HE) programmes.
  • Student Success: Oversee recruitment activities and ensure the implementation of tutorial and careers guidance policies to support student retention and achievement.

Essential Requirements

  • Expertise: Considerable subject-based and pedagogic knowledge within Business, Finance, and Management.
  • Leadership Skills: Experience in staff supervision, induction, and performance management/appraisal processes.
  • Curriculum Knowledge: Ability to develop and implement new schemes, including submissions to awarding bodies.
  • Safeguarding: A deep understanding of and commitment to safeguarding legislation and the welfare of children and vulnerable adults.
  • Professionalism: A motivation for keeping up-to-date with industry developments and a commitment to promoting equal opportunities.
