Roofing Assessor – Waterproof Membrane
Temporary | Ad Hoc
Are you an experienced roofing professional with waterproof membrane expertise, looking to pass your skills on to the next generation?
About the Role
You'll work with an education provider to assess learners working towards their roofing qualifications, with a specific focus on waterproof membrane systems. You'll visit apprentices in the workplace, review their progress against the standard and gather the evidence needed to confirm their occupational competence.
Alongside assessment, you'll support, guide and mentor learners as they build practical skills on site, and keep strong working relationships with employers so that each apprentice gets the backing they need to complete.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Assessing apprentices against their roofing qualification, specialising in waterproof membrane.
- Visiting learners in the workplace to review progress and plan next steps.
- Collecting, recording and verifying evidence of competence.
- Mentoring learners and supporting them to develop industry-ready skills.
- Liaising with employers to monitor learner progress and resolve any issues.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- Level 3 (or equivalent) roofing qualification
- Occupational experience in waterproof membrane systems
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- A genuine commitment to developing learners
Desirable (but not essential):
- An assessor qualification such as the A1, TAQA or CAVA
- Previous experience of assessing, teaching or instructing
