Programme Leader in Social Work
Permanent
Location: the North West
Start date: 16 October 2026
Are you an experienced Social Work professional with a passion for teaching and leading others?
About the Role
You'll join a further education provider in the North West as Programme Leader in Social Work, taking the lead on curriculum delivery and development within this subject area. You'll combine teaching with programme leadership, ensuring learners receive high-quality tuition while the provision continues to meet current professional and regulatory standards.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading and coordinating the Social Work programme, overseeing planning, delivery and quality improvement.
- Teaching across the programme, delivering engaging and effective sessions.
- Supporting, mentoring and collaborating with teaching colleagues to maintain consistently high standards.
- Monitoring learner progress and assessing work to support achievement.
- Contributing to curriculum development so that content reflects current practice in the sector.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- Relevant professional experience in Social Work
- A relevant qualification in Social Work at degree level or above
- A teaching qualification, or a willingness to work towards one
Desirable (but not essential):
- Previous experience in a programme leadership or course leadership role
- Experience teaching within a further education setting
