Professional Construction Lecturer
Temporary
Location: the North West
Start date: August 2026
Are you an experienced construction professional looking to pass on your expertise to the next generation?
About the Role
As a Professional Construction Lecturer, you'll deliver engaging theory and practical teaching that helps learners build the knowledge and professional skills they need to progress into the construction industry.
Working with a further education provider in the North West, you'll plan and prepare lessons, assess learner progress and adapt your approach to suit learners at different levels and stages of their training.
If you come from industry rather than a teaching background, that's welcome here. You'll be supported to develop your classroom practice through mentoring and ongoing professional development.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Planning and delivering theory and practical lessons across professional construction programmes.
- Creating teaching resources and assessing learner progress.
- Providing constructive feedback and guidance to support achievement.
- Adapting your teaching to meet the needs of learners at different levels.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- Substantial industry experience in professional construction, such as civil engineering, design, surveying or planning
- A relevant qualification in the subject area
- Level 2 (or equivalent) in English and maths
Desirable (but not essential):
- A teaching qualification, or willingness to work towards one
- Previous teaching, training or mentoring experience
