Job Description
Plumbing Lecturer
Temporary
Location: the West Midlands
Start date: October 2026
Are you an experienced plumbing professional looking to pass your trade knowledge on to the next generation?
About the Role
A further education provider in the West Midlands is looking for a Plumbing Lecturer to join its teaching team. You'll plan and deliver practical and theory sessions to learners, helping them build the skills, knowledge and confidence they need to progress within the plumbing industry.
Alongside teaching, you'll assess learners' work, track their progress and make sure the workshop and classroom remain safe, well-organised environments in which to learn.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Planning, delivering and assessing plumbing sessions to learners.
- Preparing teaching, learning and assessment materials.
- Monitoring and tracking learner progress, attendance and achievement.
- Maintaining a safe and effective workshop and classroom environment.
- Contributing to curriculum development and quality improvement.
- Keeping your industry knowledge current and embedding it into your teaching.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- A Level 3 plumbing qualification, or equivalent
- Industry experience as a plumber
- Strong communication and organisational skills
Desirable (but not essential):
- A teaching qualification, or a willingness to work towards one
- An assessor qualification
- Experience of teaching, training or assessing learners
If you're already teaching, you'll find a team to build on that with. If you're coming straight off the tools, teacher training and support can be provided for the right candidate.
Pass Your Trade On
If you're ready to help shape the next generation of plumbers, we'd love to hear from you.
What's on Offer
- Teacher training and support provided for candidates without teaching qualifications
