Job Description
Job Title: Lecturer – Plumbing
Contract: Full-time, Permanent Salary: £30,000 – £42,000
Overview
Deliver high-quality teaching, learning and assessment to Plumbing students, supporting their progress, achievement and development in a safe and inclusive environment.
Key Responsibilities
Teaching & Assessment
- Deliver structured lessons in line with curriculum requirements
- Plan sessions, prepare resources and assess learner work
- Monitor attendance, progress and achievement
- Provide clear feedback to support development
- Embed English, maths and employability skills
Curriculum Delivery
- Support development of up-to-date, industry-relevant curriculum
- Maintain current knowledge of trade practices
- Engage with employers to support learner opportunities
Learner Support
- Promote safeguarding, wellbeing and positive behaviour
- Create a safe and inclusive learning environment
- Support learners with additional needs where required
Additional Duties
- Support recruitment activities (open days/interviews)
- Participate in CPD and quality processes
- Maintain accurate records and follow policies
- Work collaboratively with staff and stakeholders
Requirements
- Level 3 Plumbing qualification (minimum)
- Teaching qualification (or willingness to work towards)
- Relevant industry experience
- Good communication and organisational skills
- Understanding of safeguarding and learner support
