Job Description

Plastering Lecturer

Temporary | Contract

Location: the West Midlands

Start date: 19 August 2026

Are you an experienced plasterer looking to pass on your trade skills and inspire the next generation?

About the Role

You'll join an education provider in the West Midlands, delivering plastering training to learners working towards practical qualifications. You'll combine trade theory with hands-on workshop delivery, drawing on your own time on the tools to bring the trade to life.

You'll support learners to build the practical skills, confidence and workplace standards they need to move into employment, apprenticeships or further study.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering engaging plastering lessons and practical workshop sessions.
  • Planning and preparing learning resources suited to the needs of your learners.
  • Assessing learner progress and providing feedback that keeps them on track.
  • Maintaining a safe, structured and encouraging workshop environment.

What We're Looking For

Essential:

  • A Level 2 (or higher) qualification in plastering
  • Substantial practical industry experience in the trade
  • The ability to motivate learners and manage a workshop safely

Desirable (but not essential):

  • A teaching or assessor qualification
  • Previous experience of teaching, training or mentoring

Teaching experience isn't essential — if you've spent your career on the tools, you'll be supported to make the move into training.

If you're ready to pass your trade on to the next generation, we'd love to hear from you.

What's on Offer

  • Support to transition into teaching role
