Personal Development Tutor
Temporary | Contract
Start date: 15 October 2026
Are you passionate about supporting young people through their education journey?
About the Role
You'll join a further education provider as part of the team supporting learners with their personal development, progress and wellbeing. Working closely with students on a one-to-one basis, you'll help them set targets, overcome barriers and stay on track towards their goals.
No formal teaching qualification is required — this role suits someone with experience of supporting learners or a background in care, and a genuine enthusiasm for helping young people succeed.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Holding 1:1 meetings with students to discuss progress plans and develop targets.
- Providing pastoral support to learners across the programme.
- Monitoring and actioning issues with timekeeping, attendance and behaviour.
- Supporting learners with their next steps, including UCAS applications, apprenticeships, further study and work.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- A Level 2 qualification or higher in English and Maths
- Experience of working with young adults
- An Enhanced DBS check, or a willingness to obtain one
Desirable (but not essential):
- Knowledge of additional learning needs
- Up-to-date safeguarding training, or a willingness to obtain it
