Personal Care LSA
Contract
Location: East London
Pay: £18 per hour Umbrella rate
Start date: September 2026
About the role
Are you a caring and dependable individual who wants to make a real difference to the lives of students with additional needs?
As a Personal Care Learning Support Assistant, you'll work closely with students to support their learning, wellbeing and independence throughout the college day. You'll provide both classroom support and personal care, helping students to access their studies with dignity and confidence.
You'll work alongside teaching staff and the wider support team, building positive relationships with the students you work with and adapting your approach to meet their individual needs.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing personal care to students in a respectful and dignified manner.
- Supporting students with additional needs to access learning within the classroom.
- Encouraging independence, confidence and participation in college life.
- Working closely with teaching staff to adapt activities and materials to individual needs.
- Building trusting relationships with students and communicating their needs to the wider team.
What we're looking for
Essential:
- A caring, patient and reliable approach
- Willingness to provide personal care with sensitivity and respect
- Good communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships
- The ability to work as part of a team
Desirable (but not essential):
- Previous experience of supporting learners with additional needs
- Experience in an education or care setting
