About the Role
You'll join the payroll function of a further education provider, taking responsibility for accurate, on-time payment of staff and the administration that sits behind it. This is a hands-on role where attention to detail and meeting deadlines matter.
You'll be the first point of contact for pay and pension queries, working with colleagues across the organisation and with external bodies to resolve issues clearly and professionally.
Your responsibilities will include:

- Managing deductions including tax, National Insurance, student loans and pension contributions.
- Submitting payments and returns to HMRC and pension providers within the required deadlines.
- Administering pensions, including opt-ins, opt-outs and retirement paperwork.
- Responding to payroll and pension queries from staff and external organisations.
- Maintaining strict confidentiality in line with data protection regulations.

- Strong Excel skills and good overall Microsoft Office capability
Desirable (but not essential):

- Experience supporting audits or payroll process improvements
If you're an experienced payroll professional who takes pride in getting it right first time, we'd love to hear from you.
