Temporary | Part Time
Location: Yorkshire and the Humber
Start date: 3 September 2026
Are you an experienced joiner looking to pass on your skills and inspire the next generation of tradespeople?
About the Role
A further education provider in Yorkshire and the Humber is looking for a Part Time Joinery Tutor to join its team. You'll deliver both theory and practical workshop sessions, helping learners build the hands-on skills and technical understanding they need to progress into employment or an apprenticeship.
You'll work with learners of differing abilities and confidence levels, so your ability to explain, demonstrate and motivate will matter as much as your trade background.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Delivering classroom and workshop-based teaching on joinery programmes.
- Planning lessons and preparing industry-relevant learning materials.
- Assessing learner progress and providing constructive feedback.
- Maintaining accurate learner records.
- Promoting a safe, professional and positive workshop environment.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- A relevant Level 2 (or higher) qualification in joinery or carpentry
- Trade experience in joinery
- The ability to engage and motivate learners of varying abilities
Desirable (but not essential):
- A teaching qualification, or a willingness to work towards one
- Previous experience of teaching, training or mentoring
- An assessor qualification
