Paint and Decorating Tutor
Temporary | Contract
Location: the West Midlands
Start date: 8 September 2026
Are you an experienced painter and decorator looking to pass on your trade skills and inspire the next generation?
About the Role
You'll join an education provider in the West Midlands, delivering painting and decorating training to learners working towards practical qualifications. You'll combine trade theory with hands-on workshop delivery, drawing on your own time on the tools to bring the trade to life.
You'll support learners to build the practical skills, confidence and workplace standards they need to move into employment, apprenticeships or further study.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Delivering engaging painting and decorating lessons and practical workshop sessions.
- Planning and preparing learning resources suited to the needs of your learners.
- Assessing learner progress and providing feedback that keeps them on track.
- Maintaining a safe, structured and encouraging workshop environment.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- A Level 2 (or higher) qualification in painting and decorating
- Substantial practical industry experience in the trade
- The ability to engage and motivate learners with a range of needs
Desirable (but not essential):
- A teaching or assessing qualification
- Previous experience of delivering vocational training
