Multi Skills Lecturer
Temporary | Contract
Location: the West Midlands
Start date: September 2026
Are you an experienced construction professional looking to pass your trade skills on to the next generation?
About the Role
You'll join a training provider in the West Midlands, delivering teaching, learning and assessment across multi skills programmes. Working in both practical workshop and classroom settings, you'll help learners build the hands-on trade skills they need to achieve their qualifications and progress into employment or further training.
You'll plan engaging sessions that reflect current industry practice, and support learners from a range of backgrounds to get the most out of their programme.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Delivering high-quality teaching, learning and assessment across multi skills programmes.
- Planning and preparing engaging lessons and practical workshop sessions.
- Assessing learner progress, setting targets and providing constructive feedback.
- Providing academic and pastoral support to help learners achieve their goals.
- Maintaining accurate learner records and monitoring attendance and achievement.
- Contributing to curriculum development and quality improvement activities.
- Embedding English and maths skills within vocational learning.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- Level 3 vocational qualification in a relevant construction trade
- Level 2 English and maths (or equivalent)
- Industry experience within construction or multi-trade environments
- Ability to motivate and engage learners from a range of backgrounds
- Strong organisational and communication skills
Desirable (but not essential):
- Teaching qualification at Level 4 or Level 5, or a willingness to work towards one
- Experience of teaching or supporting learners, apprentices or trainees
- Experience working with learners who have behavioural or additional support needs
