Job Description
Job Title: Motor Vehicle Tutor (Light Vehicles)
Location: North London Contract: Full-time, Permanent Salary: £35,000 – £40,000 per year
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver practical and classroom-based teaching and assessment
- Prepare lesson plans, schemes of work and learning materials
- Set and mark assignments and provide learner feedback
- Assess learner progress against curriculum/apprenticeship standards
- Act as a personal tutor and provide pastoral support
- Maintain attendance records, registers and learner documentation
- Maintain course files and programme paperwork
- Support college marketing/events activity when required
- Follow safeguarding, equality and health & safety policies
Essential Requirements
- Level 3 qualification in Light Vehicle Technology (or equivalent)
- Minimum 5 years' industry experience working on light vehicles
- Strong knowledge of diagnostics and repairs (powertrain, chassis, electrical, drivetrain, auxiliary systems)
- Confident using diagnostic equipment (scanners, oscilloscopes, air con equipment)
- IT competent (Microsoft Office)
- Level 2 English and Maths (or willingness to work towards)
- Willingness to work towards a recognised FE teaching qualification
