Are you an experienced motor vehicle technician looking to pass your skills on to the next generation of automotive professionals?

About the Role

As a Motor Vehicle Lecturer with a further education provider, you'll deliver theory and practical workshop sessions across motor vehicle service and repair programmes, helping learners build the technical knowledge and hands-on skills employers expect.

You'll plan lessons and resources, assess progress and give feedback that moves learners forward, working alongside colleagues in the automotive team to prepare students for employment, apprenticeships and further study.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Delivering engaging classroom lessons and practical workshop sessions.
• Teaching motor vehicle programmes to learners of mixed abilities.
• Planning lessons, assessing learner progress and providing constructive feedback.
• Maintaining accurate learner records and contributing to high standards of teaching, learning and assessment.
• Promoting a safe, professional workshop environment and industry-standard working practices.

What We're Looking For

Essential:

• NVQ Level 3 in Motor Vehicle, or equivalent
• Recent industry experience in the motor vehicle sector
• Enthusiasm for developing and inspiring future technicians
• Good communication and organisational skills
• Basic IT skills, including Microsoft Office

Desirable (but not essential):

• A teaching qualification, or a willingness to work towards one
• Previous experience teaching or assessing in further education

Teaching experience is not essential. If you're new to education, you'll be supported with training and ongoing development as you settle into the role.
