Motor Vehicle Lecturer
Temporary
Location: the East Midlands
Start date: 1 October 2026
Are you an experienced motor vehicle technician looking to inspire the next generation of automotive professionals?
About the Role
You'll join a further education provider to deliver theory and practical motor vehicle sessions to learners working towards industry-recognised qualifications. You'll bring the workshop floor into the classroom, teaching the service and repair techniques learners need alongside the professional standards employers expect.
If you're new to teaching, that's no barrier. Industry professionals are supported with teacher training, mentoring and ongoing development.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Planning and delivering engaging theory and practical motor vehicle sessions.
- Assessing learners' work and tracking their progress towards their qualifications.
- Supporting curriculum development and the day-to-day running of workshop sessions.
- Maintaining safe, industry-standard working practices in the workshop.
- Encouraging learners to build the confidence, professionalism and employability skills the industry asks for.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- Substantial vocational experience in the motor vehicle sector
- Level 3 Motor Vehicle qualification (or equivalent)
- Strong practical and technical knowledge of vehicle service and repair
- Good communication and organisational skills
Desirable (but not essential):
- A teaching or assessing qualification, or a willingness to work towards one
- Previous experience of teaching or mentoring in a workshop setting
