Motor Vehicle Lecturer
Temporary
Location: the North West
Start date: 14 September 2026
Are you an experienced motor vehicle technician looking to inspire the next generation of automotive professionals?
About the Role
You'll join a further education provider in the North West, delivering motor vehicle theory and practical workshop sessions to learners working towards qualifications in service and repair.
You'll plan and deliver sessions that stay grounded in current industry practice, and support learners to build the technical knowledge and hands-on skills they need to progress into employment or an apprenticeship.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Delivering classroom and workshop-based teaching across motor vehicle programmes.
- Planning and preparing schemes of work, practical sessions, lesson resources and assessments.
- Assessing learners' work and providing timely, constructive feedback.
- Monitoring learner progress and supporting those with gaps in knowledge.
- Maintaining a safe, professional workshop environment in line with industry standards.
- Working with curriculum colleagues to support achievement and retention.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- A Level 3 qualification or equivalent in motor vehicle
- Recent industry experience in the motor vehicle sector
- Good communication and organisational skills
Desirable (but not essential):
- A teaching qualification
- Experience of delivering in a further education setting
Teaching experience isn't essential. If you're coming straight from industry, you'll be supported to gain a recognised teaching qualification while you work.
