Media Lecturer
Temporary
Location: the South West
Start date: September 2026
Are you a media professional ready to pass on your creative and technical skills to the next generation?
About the Role
You will plan and deliver engaging media lessons across both practical and theory sessions, drawing on your own experience to help learners develop industry-relevant skills and build a body of work they can be proud of.
Working as part of a supportive curriculum team with a further education provider in the South West, you'll assess learner work, track progress and give clear, timely feedback that helps students achieve their potential and move on to further study or employment.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Planning and delivering media lessons in classroom and practical settings.
- Preparing schemes of work, learning resources and assessments.
- Assessing learner work and providing clear, constructive feedback.
- Monitoring learner progress, attendance and achievement.
- Contributing to curriculum development in line with current industry practice.
- Working collaboratively with colleagues across the wider curriculum team.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- A Level 3 qualification or equivalent in a media-related subject
- Industry experience in media
- A teaching qualification or a willingness to work towards one
Desirable (but not essential):
- Previous experience of teaching, assessing or instructing learners
- Experience of supporting learners with English and maths alongside their main subject
