Media Lecturer
Temporary
Location: the East of England
Start date: August 2026
Are you a media professional or experienced teacher ready to help learners build the creative and technical skills the industry expects?
About the Role
You'll join the media team at a further education provider, delivering engaging lessons across media programmes and supporting learners to develop the practical and theoretical skills they need for employment or further study.
You'll plan and deliver sessions, assess learner work and track progress, giving the feedback and encouragement that keeps learners moving forward. You'll also work alongside colleagues to keep the curriculum current and relevant to the sector.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Delivering engaging lessons across a range of media programmes.
- Planning schemes of work, resources and assessments that support achievement and progression.
- Assessing learner work, giving timely feedback and monitoring progress.
- Supporting learners academically and pastorally throughout their studies.
- Maintaining accurate records of attendance, achievement and outcomes.
- Contributing to curriculum development so that content reflects current industry practice.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- A relevant qualification or substantial industry experience in media
- Strong subject knowledge across media theory and practice
- The ability to engage and motivate learners of mixed abilities
Desirable (but not essential):
- A recognised teaching qualification, or a willingness to work towards one
- Previous experience teaching or assessing in a further education setting
